Hello, Boulder!

I serve Boulder, Colorado as a City Councilmember, elected November 2023. I’m working to make make Boulder safer and more prosperous for everyone through better housing and transportation options, protection from wildfire and power outages, and stronger financial foundations—all grounded in climate resilience. I’m here to serve all the Boulder community in all the ways I can.

My first term ends in November 2026. I intend to run for re-election when campaign season begins in August.

My last name is pronounced “shoe-hard”

What I believe

  • Boulder must become more affordable, safe, and sustainable—and our future depends on it.

  • Boulder needs a more comprehensive and connected system of bikeways, public transit options, safe streets, and housing options.

  • Boulder must lead and collaborate with regional partners to resolve our homelessness crisis.

  • Boulder can preserve and even improve its famous quality of life while becoming more inclusive.
